What is a “Family Doc”?
Family Practitioners are the same as the old GPs, except that we have been through a three-year residency (post-graduate training) specializing in the field of Family Medicine.
We are also trained to look at the whole person, unlike some of the narrower specialties.
What is a Physician Assistant?
A Physician Assistant is an individual who has been through a two to three year medical program and is trained in basic primary health care.
More about our practiceGenerally, we can take care of at least 90% of the problems that enter the office and can arrange for referral of the remaining problems to the appropriate specialists.
We are trained in all aspects of general medicine, including:
- General medicine
- Obstetrics
- Minor surgery
- Some counseling
- Care for acute and chronic illness
Health involves more than treating sickness when it occurs.
